History
Benoni Cooke and Rufus Greene, business partners, erected adjacent houses c. 1828, facing one another and connected at the rear by a paved court yard and brick stables. John Holden Greene was the architect. The Greene house was torn down when the Old Stone Bank was enlarged in 1898. The Cooke house and the stables, the latter considerably altered were maintained by the bank in 1948.
