History
This Art Deco building was designed by Walker and Gillette for the Industrial Trust Company. It is perhaps the best known feature of the city's skyline. When it was erected, it was the tallest structure in Providence. Constructed of limestone, it was topped with a four-story lantern. The bank changed its name to Fleet Bank in 1982 and then changed hands a few times, changing the building's name along with it. The bank has been empty since 2013 and has appeared consistently on the Providence Preservation Society's Most Endangered Properties list since then.
